Nasarawa State College of Education was established in December, 1976.

LOCATION:
The School is situated in Akwanga local Government Council of Nasarawa
State, 2kms along Jos road, Akwanga

OBJECTIVES OF THE COLLEGE:
The objectives of setting up the college are as stated in the edict
establishing the College. These are:

To offer courses leading to the Nigeria Certificate in Education
through a three –year academic and professional course which,
on successful completion, candidates qualify as teachers in primary
schools, secondary and teachers training colleges.
To act as a centre for research into the various areas of
educational theory and practice; To mount from time to time
in-service vacation courses for serving teachers.

MANPOWER PRODUCED
The institution is aimed at producing middle level manpower, to carter
mainly for primary, junior secondary and teacher training institutions

The institution has since its inception in 1976 been able to train 22,694
qualified teachers who now occupy various positions across the country.

::Notice to All Applicant::

All candidates wishing to be considered for admission must enroll for and write the selection examinations organized by JAMB.

The college,in addition to the above, administers her own elimination tests and/or interviews for prospective students.

The College also in affiliation with the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, offers Degree Programs in some Education courses

::Registration Procedure::

All returning and fresh student must register at the beginning of the semester.

Students are expected to collect thier registration scratch card; having paid the necesary fee to enable them have access to the portal.

Newly admitted students can only be issued with these card when they produce their letters of admission, while returning students must produce their identity cards for the purpose of identification.
